Making low carb simple
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add garlic and celery. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add clam juice, cream, cream cheese, sage, lemon juice and lemon zest. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes without lid.
- Add the fish and shrimp. Simmer for 3 minutes or until fish is just cooked (should flake easily). Add the baby spinach and stir until wilted.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh red chili and fresh sage before serving for extra flavor and splash of color.
Tip
As an optional addition, consider adding crushed, dried chili flakes as a garnish on the soup. These add a lovely hot zest to an already delicious soup.

There are only 3.6g carbs in 100g of clams, so you could use all clams in this recipe as long as you accounted for the carbs.
Raw, as they will cook very quickly. Adding in already cooked shrimp/prawns may result in a rubbery texture.
Add a handful of bacon, Costco has the bags of crumbled bacon, if not chop the raw stuff and add it at the butter and garlic stage. I also decided to put both sage and thyme (I don't measure but I would say 1/2 tsp) and basil, a bit more than the other two as basil is a more forgiving herb, so to speak. If you like it spicy add cayenne at an early stage. Let the heat set in.
Oh yeah, I put the same weight of shrimp to fish ratio. What the hell shrimp has a negligible amount of carbs.
and finally I put some green onion on top after serving in a bowl, looks good and add a subtle additional layer of flavor.
I also added more lemon zest as well during cooking.
But maybe coconut cream! It's high in saturated fat might get close to whipping cream. What the heck, recipes

Adding broth is a great way to thin a rich savory dish. Be sure to adjust the nutrition information accordingly.
We have not tested this recipe with smoked salmon, but that should be fine!
Listing a serving size would be more inaccurate as different people will find that the soup reduces more or less in different situations. Giving the number of servings is the most accurate way to make sure the listed nutrition information is accurate.
Soup is a great candidate for making extra servings for later in the week. Sometimes a cream base may "break" a little when it is reheated but it will still taste good.

That does sound fantastic!
Chicken may work well in this dish.
P.S. Salmon fish is not available easily in India .
Salmon adds protein and fat. You can substitute with any fish you prefer. This dish as written is 78% calories from fat, so even if you choose a leaner fish, you may not need to add anything to compensate for a less fatty fish.
