What happened to Andreas' "fruit is nature's candy?" Are you seriously recommending mangos daily for those who read this blog, the majority of whom struggled with pre-diabetes or full T2D?!?!?
Nowadays even most "normal" weight people are actually insulin resistant and skinny-fat. They also shouldn't be slurping down the sugary liquid calories, which encourage over-consumption & high blood numbers.
Most people – even readers of this blog – can probably tolerate a small amount of fruit occasionally (nature's candy). People with diabetes will have to decide if it's worth it to them (often the answer could be no).
But you are right, the small amount of mango or kiwi fruit would tend to supply more sugar than the other suggestions and the nutritional facts (carbs/serving) could be a bit misleading, so I removed them from the recipe.
I can't take coconut oil, it makes me sick. Can I substitute with e.g. olive oil, or what would you recommend?
Thanks,
Denise
So to sum it all up: Take 3 daily servings of the Smoothie and Latte described above to ensure an intake of 3 raw eggs. Make sure to boil the remaining 22 eggs in your daily diet and you will live a long and healthy life ;-)
Here in Sweden, were we have much more strict regulations concerning animal care than in the US (among them, not allowing antibiotics in the feed unless the chickens really have an infection) we have managed to produce sallmonella free eggs for decades. So my advice would be: Buy your eggs from an organic producer you trust. If you have some kind of immunodeficency, boil them.
10% what, milkfat?
For the US audience, it's probably also worth emphasizing to use full fat yogurt, which is frankly not that easy to find. Most yogurts here are sky hi gly junk confections.
Smoothies make great vehicles for adding in your daily prebiotic fiber.
Raw eggs? No problem - raise your own chickens :)
Lots of foods have anti nutrients, such as phytates in unsprouted grains, seeds and nuts and oxalates in uncooked spinach and kale.
Russian youghurt is 18% here in sweden.. its the favorite now a days for Swedish lowcarbers.
I belive that different dairy company label there products whit nice labels to sell more.
Its strained youghurt and it got different names in different countrys.

I was in Turkey at easter.. there yoghurt tasted different then Swedish Turkish youghurt.. strange isnt it?
Labne is another name.
(who is 91 with no major health problems except hard of hearing /still sharp mentally/ still working /rides his bicycle to get around)
has had a drink containing raw eggs for breakfast every day of his adult life.
Also, the Yoghurt, turkish or Greek here, contains only 10 fat. Lidl has the best ones, I think.
Regarding the coffee...please, don't say instant!(Here in Uk , most people use instant but you only get a few grains and it is only then brown water. Horrible!) I would prefer some real coffee, eh?
2 eggs
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1½ cups (400 ml) hot water
1 pinch vanilla powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger, cloves and cinnamon
And it's delicious! I'm not a big fan of eggs and was struggling to find another recipe that I could use besides scrambled eggs every morning and this recipe hides the egg taste well. I'm starting the two week challenge tomorrow and I know this breakfast recipe will help me through the next few weeks.
Thank you for sharing.
One thing is for sure though I am not even half way through it and I am feeling completely full.
The raw eggs are not a problem and blend nicely.
I live in Brazil and there's absolutely no chance of getting what you people buy in Sweden. This is a tropical third world country.
No Greek yogurt, not plain anyway. Everything has sugar in it. Fat-free abounds. No 10% anything.
'Blue Diamond' unsweetened vanilla almond milk only has 2g of carbs per one cup.
I was looking at a smoothie recipe here on the site and saw the use of coconut milk/cream and was wondering could I use almond milk occasionally for a low carb smoothie.
This would be one of each.
We recommend that you avoid sweeteners at least for daily use. If you don't have problems with cravings and use sweeteners once or twice a week then you can use the one you think have the best taste. :)
